Who we are

Kaluara Group Pty Ltd (ABN 77 702 159 573) hires photobooths with an attendant across Melbourne and Victoria. In these terms, “we” and “us” means Kaluara Group Pty Ltd and “you” means the person making the booking or using the site. Questions about these terms go to contact@kaluara.com.

Quotes and prices

Prices are shown on this site before you book: the hourly hire for the length you choose, and, only when they apply, the travel fee, attendant time for a setup or pack-down at a fixed time, early hours loading and any extras. The figure on the page is an estimate until checkout, where it is worked out again from the venue and current rates. The total you pay a deposit on is the price of your booking. Prices are in Australian dollars.

Booking and the deposit

A booking is confirmed when a 30% deposit is paid by card at checkout. The date is not held until the deposit clears. If someone else books the same time while you are paying, we refund your deposit in full automatically.

Online bookings need 2 days’ notice. For anything sooner, ask us first.

The balance is due by 11:59pm the night before the event, unless we agree otherwise. You can pay it any time before through your booking page, all at once or in parts.

Changing your booking

Your booking page lets you move your start and finish, add extras and update your design, as far as the booth is free. Changes that cost more are paid when you make them; changes that cost less reduce the balance. For anything else, email us and we will confirm the change in writing.

Cancellation

The date is held once the deposit is received. The balance is due by 11:59pm the night before the event, unless we agree otherwise. Cancel more than 7 days before the event and everything paid is refunded; within 7 days, half the deposit is refunded, along with anything paid beyond it.

If we cannot provide the booth for a reason within our control, we refund everything you have paid for the event.

Prepaid hours for organisations

An organisation can buy a pack of hours at the pack’s hourly rate and book its events with them. An event booked with hours is at least 4 hours long and needs no deposit: the hours hold the date. The travel fee, extras, attendant time for a setup or pack-down at a fixed time and early hours loading are charged at the usual rates and are due on the night. Hours past the balance on an event are charged at the hourly rate of the pack that ran out.

Booked 8 weeks or more before the event, the date is guaranteed. Sooner than that, it is subject to availability. Hours last 24 months from purchase; we can agree more time when asked. If an event booked with hours is cancelled more than 7 days before it, its hours go back to the organisation; within 7 days, half go back, and the rest if we agree. Unused hours are not refunded as money.

Referrals

A booking that comes through a referral earns a reward: a Kaluara Smart eGift Card, issued by Prezzee, or, for the person booking where offered, credit off their balance instead. Rewards follow the hours the booth runs at the event: 3 to 4.99 hours: $25; 5 to 7.99 hours: $50; 8 hours or more: $100 at full value. What each person gets depends on how the booking came to us:

• Someone's own link or code (anyone with an account can share theirs): the person booking gets $25 to $100 and the person who shared it gets $25 to $100.
• An event's link or QR code, used after the night: the person booking gets $25 to $100 and the event's host gets $25 to $100.
• An event's link or QR code, used on the night (from its start until 12 hours after it ends): the person booking gets $25 to $100 and the event's host gets $10 to $50.
• A host is rewarded for at most 10 bookings from one event. An event's code works until 365 days after it.
• A first booking made in the Kaluara app with no code: the person booking gets $25 to $100.

Amounts round down to a card value Prezzee sells. One reward source applies to a booking, and the amounts are set when the deposit is paid.

• The person booking must be new to us, and any code must be on the booking when the deposit is paid.
• The person booking gets their card as soon as your deposit clears. It is only sent before the event when the deposit paid covers it. If the booking is then cancelled, the card's value comes off any refund. Credit off the balance is taken off what is left to pay; it has no cash value and is never refunded as money.
• The person who shared gets their card 14 days after the event, once it is paid in full. A cancelled booking earns nothing.
• Rewards are checked before they are sent, and we may decline one where a booking looks like a referral to yourself. Each person may earn up to $1,000 a year in referral rewards.
• Cards are issued by Prezzee, last three years from issue, and are treated like cash: keep the email safe. A lost card can be sent again to the same email.

On the night

• The booth needs a level, dry space, indoors or under cover, with a standard power point within reach.
• Please tell us at booking about anything that affects setup: stairs, a loading dock, parking, venue access times or venue rules.
• An attendant runs the booth for the hours booked. They may pause the booth if equipment is being misused or someone’s safety is at risk.
• You are responsible for damage to our equipment caused by guests, other than ordinary wear and tear.

Your designs

You can design your print and start screen on this site, upload a logo or a template of your own, or open a design in Canva. By uploading or linking anything, you confirm you have the right to use it, and you allow us to reproduce it for your event. We print the version you approve on your booking page. Colours on screen and on paper can differ slightly.

When you use “Design in Canva”, your use of Canva is also covered by Canva’s own terms. We only open, read and export the designs you start from this site, and only while you are connected.

Photos and the gallery

The photos taken on the night are yours. We publish them to a private gallery for your event, reached by a link only you receive, and you may share it as you like. We do not use your event’s photos in our own marketing without your permission.

Using this site

You may use this site and its designer for planning your own event. Please do not misuse it, try to break it, or copy its content, designs or brand for another business. The Kaluara name and marks are ours.

Our responsibility

Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Nothing in these terms limits those rights. Beyond them, and as far as the law allows, our liability for any booking is limited to the amount paid for it, and we are not liable for losses we could not reasonably have foreseen, or for delays caused by things outside our control such as severe weather, venue restrictions or road closures.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The version that applies to a booking is the one on this page when the deposit was paid. These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia.
